Dr XxxxxDR Xxxxx : Case 4 : Comments 4

All these symptoms are a fairly typical cluster of complaints experienced by patients who are developing symptomatic Paill Spectrum infection.

These patients often get significantly symptomatically better even with simple treatments such as dietary wheat restriction in wheat allergic patients.

The Paill Spectrum model suggests that any Antigliaden antibody level greater than 20-25% of reference range as calibrated for endoscopically proven Celiac disease, is likely to have significant health effects on the patient, both directly and indirectly.  Wheat antibodies (anti-gliaden antibodies) trigger low-grade malabsorption problems sufficient to affect vitamin and mineral uptake.  They also affect antigen processing probably at the TAP protein level, causing the immune response to other antigens to be smoke screened by the continued presence of wheat antigen.  (Also known as gliaden or gluten).
